Trollbeads Golden Rutilated Quartz Review

This Trollbeads blog brings a dedicated review of the Trollbeads Golden Rutilated Quartz.

Though Trollbeads Day 2017 doesn’t actually fall until next week (June the 17th,) pre-orders for the limited edition Golden Rutilated Quartz began today. From the moment I saw it I began pondering how to style the stone. Unfortunately I don’t actually have a huge amount of gemstones or more to the point, I lack duplicates and I really wanted to experiment with a few entirely stone bracelets. VALINOR Boutique kindly offered to send me some gemstones over and for reference these will likely be featuring in my next Facebook live stream. For reference you can check out the first here. At some point I’ll work on a way to embed them somewhere on the front page of my blog so those of you who don’t use social media can at least watch them. I’m also planning to create some kind of schedule for the live streaming but as usual, I’ve been so busy with actual writing and photography that I’m really behind.

Trollbeads Golden Rutilated Quartz

There’s huge variation in the Trollbeads Golden Rutilated Quartz and in fairness the shade of bead you prefer is going to influence the styling enormously. I was lucky enough to receive exactly what I wanted; a very clear example with just a hint of citron colouring and lots of rutile. The beads are stamped with the year on their core, consistent with the previous Trollbeads Day beads.

Among the beads I was sent there were a few Trollbeads Hessonite Garnets and Red Tiger Eyes. The latter I don’t personally have and the former though I’d been incredibly excited for it’s release, the example I’d received as a sample wasn’t great. Admittedly it’s June and these are quite autumnal colours but they’re definitely my kind of colours. Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be offering a few different bracelet ideas for the Golden Rutilated Quartz anyway. The silver beads are all the True Beadz barrel designs as the new Dragon Shadow collection launches in just a few days.

Trollbeads Golden Rutilated Quartz

VALINOR posted the pre-orders for this bead just after midnight last night and there are still some lovely beads available via the link below:-

It’s also worth noting that there are so many beautiful gemstones and ambers available after last week’s happy hour. All of them are listed from live images in natural light so please do check those out too:-

Trollbeads Golden Rutilated Quartz Summary

There’s been so much debate about this bead, most of which has been focused on the high retail price. In person it is beautiful. It absolutely glows in the sunshine and it’s difficult to not find it hugely appealing when it’s in hand (or on your wrist.) It’s apparently hand faceted and the facets are very cleanly executed. Obviously the amount of rutile you’re going to see will vary from bead to bead so please do hand select your choice, particularly given the retail price.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Trollbeads Golden Rutilated Quartz? Have you pre-ordered it or are you hoping to head to your local store for Trollbeads Day 2017? Hit the comments and let me know!
