The Trollbeads Balance Lily Lock launched as part of the spring 2017 collection and is designed by Soren Nielsen. It’s quite a chubby looking lock in it’s shape. It retails at $59, €52 or £45.

Trollbeads Balance Lily Lock

On one side this lock shows a simple three petalled flower. On the other is a lovely leaf detail. I have to confess I prefer the leaf side as I find it beautifully autumnal. The smooth edge of the lock ensures the large side of the clasp is super easy to use as there’s no detailing for a finger or nail to catch on. I do find the small end a little tricky but this seems to be a common problem.

I wanted to create a really tranquil feeling bracelet, inspired by a pond covered in lily pads. We’ve had a few days of torrential rain here in Denmark and while I appreciate most people see don’t welcome it, I find it so relaxing. I opted to use an assortment of greens, ranging from the very soft hues of the True Beadz Linen down to the deep, emerald colour of the Trollbeads Malachite.

I’ve included the Ohm Beads Weeping Warrior which I still feel is so underrated. Here it’s meant to represent someone meditating. The True Beadz True Clover features for the raised motif which I felt could represent lily pads. Plus I rather love the darker oxidised background. There’s a bead index at the end of the article if you’re unsure of any specific design.

Trollbeads Balance Lily Lock Summary

Of the two new locks I do prefer the Trollbeads Water Lily Lock as I adore the layered texture it has. I also find it more abstract as I’ve never been a huge hearts and flowers girl. That said I love the leaf detailing side of this lock and actually I’d really like to see Trollbeads explore that as a theme in the future.

The lock is very functional thanks to the clean lines which isn’t something that can be said for all of their locks these days. It’s actually a little chunkier than some of the new styles too.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Trollbeads Balance Lily Lock? Did you indulge in this clasp? Have you participated in the free bracelet promotion this time? Hit the comments and let me know!
