This Redbalifrog blog celebrates the launch of the Redbalifrog Other Myths & Legends collection with a complete preview.

Today sees the launch of the Redbalifrog Other Myths & Legends collection, an extension of the original release from 2015. Those original fantasy designs apparently formed one of the most popular Redbalifrog releases to date (and you can find a reminder of those below.)

The collection consists of five new designs, all of which are beads and they are of course compatible with your Ohm Beads or Pandora charm bracelets.

Redbalifrog Other Myths & Legends

The five mew beads are the Redbalifrog Balinese Troll, Bee Goddess, Green Man, Ouroboros and Surya the Sun.

I love the expression on the Balinese Troll’s face. He’s a very traditional looking piece (at least from the front) which I really appreciate as I’ve always had a love for Tolkien-esque fantasy. He does have the Om symbol on his back which is reflected in his name but the detailing around the face is fabulous.

A mischievous little guy who loves silver and will guard your treasures.

The Bee Goddess is going to prove a popular bead I suspect and for those who find appeal here, do remember to consider the Redbalifrog Queen Bee charm as a partner. The very heavy texturing of the front and rear almost makes the bead resemble a carving which is a really interesting idea.

The ancients believed that the Bee’s ability to make honey was a gift from the divine. Honey, used for food, drink and medicine has long been associated with Goddesses all over the world.

The Green Man is my favourite of this release and as such a prolific fantasy reader there’s little wonder as he’s always been a recurring theme there. Amanda’s version looks beautifully detailed and I’m tempted to wear this alone on a bangle. As a symbol of regrowth his release is aptly timed especially with Earth Day drawing near.

The Green Man is often related to the natural vegetative deities. He is a symbol of rebirth and the cycle of growth each Spring.

The new Redbalifrog Ouroboros is my second favourite from the release. This isn’t a traditional or western styled dragon but that’s unsurprising considering the brand’s roots are so deeply embedded in Balinese culture but the detailing is exquisite. He also has glittering green stone eyes which are again perfect for the spring season. This is such a powerful symbol.

The Ouroboros with his crystal green eyes is a symbol of eternity but also represents the infinite cycle of natures endless creation & destruction

The final design is the Redbalifrog Surya the Sun and I love the realistic interpretation of this design. Once again the texturing is amazing and this is another design I think could be incredibly striking as a focal point on a bangle.

Surya is revered as the rising sun and its symbolism as the dispeller of darkness, one who empowers knowledge, the good and all life.

Redbalifrog Other Myths & Legends Summary

This is such a powerful release. Where the first collection focused primarily on some of the more fun aspects of fantasy, such as the Jackalope or Book of Spells designs, this series features some very iconic dieties. It feels like such a tremendous celebration of the spring season on a completely different level to the usual floral style releases.
