Last week saw the launch of the Redbalifrog Other Myths and Legends collection and the name is quite self explanatory. It’s a theme Amanda has tackled in the past but this new series of charms feel somehow more epic in terms of the specific designs featured.

Today I’m showcasing my favourite design of the release, the Redbalifrog Green Man. Do remember that Redbalifrog are compatible with Ohm Beads or Pandora charm bracelets and this particular bead retails at $44, €37 or £33.

Redbalifrog Green Man

My first real experience with the concept of the Green Man came via Tolkien and I’ll admit I found the whole idea terribly romantic. Traditionally they’re depicted as having a face surrounded by foliage. The Redbalifrog Green Man is loyal to the concept and though it’s not a huge bead it’s beautifully detailed and identical on both the front and the rear.

For this bracelet I wanted to try and capture the essence of an ancient forest. For me the green colouring needed to be predominantly darker in shade to represent the age. That said I desperately wish I had more True Beadz True Potion (review here) glass as the ombre effect is perfect. It gives the feel of sunlight creeping through a canopy. The wooden beads were an absolute necessity for this as brown glass just felt too glossy for me. I’ve included the new Ohm Beads Flower beads for the first time and there’s also a couple of bee themed silver beads. There’s a bead index at the end if you’re unsure of any specific design.

Redbalifrog Green Man Summary

This is an absolute must have for fantasy enthusiasts but far beyond that it’s a lovely addition to any kind of forest themed bracelet. I’ve actually been wearing it on a bangle as this tends to be my preference and with a couple of green beads, it’s very striking.
