One of the aspects I appreciate about Redbalifrog as a brand are the Trollbeads compatible locks. Amanda’s locks are chunkier and though I’ve often found the small ends a little tricky to open, the additional size gives a certain sense of security. I tend to work with bracelet themes a lot and locks are the perfect finishing touch; at least if you can find one that matches the theme. The more locks, spacers and stoppers available the happier I am.

Over the summer season I wanted to revisit some of the Redbalifrog locks, particularly when I repeatedly see some Trollbeads collectors voice unhappiness with the size of the newer Trollbeads locks. The Redbalifrog Rose Lock debuted back in 2013 as part of the Eclectic, Exotic and Romantic collection. The following year it was offered with a brass finish.

It’s 2.5 cms in length, retails at $56, €54 or £48 and is compatible with Trollbeads bracelets.

Redbalifrog Floral Bracelet Inspiration

Since I’ve actually reviewed the lock before I wanted to focus more on sharing a little bracelet inspiration. Those of you who follow me on social media (Facebook, Instagram and the VALINOR Boutique Instagram page) will have seen a little behind the scenes action of this combination yesterday. (I had the fabulous idea to go cut flowers to use for the photography and then proceeded to spend all evening sneezing and barely able to see.)

I wanted to use the Redbalifrog Flowers for the Soul beads which includes the Rose, the Chrysanthemum and the Daisy Chain.

To fill the bracelet I added a couple more nature themed beads including the Frangipanis Forever, the relatively new Owl Nest and one of my person favourite floral beads, the Redbalifrog Calla Lily.

Though I wanted a feminine colour scheme, I also wanted it to be elegant and I find full pink bracelets overwhelming sometimes. I’ve opted to include a couple of cream beads and then shades of pink that sit just a little more towards the grape spectrum. I spent a long time choosing the glass for this bracelet and tried to capture an almost vintage air. Remember that there’s a bead index at the end of the article.

Redbalifrog Floral Bracelet Summary

I’ve always felt Amanda to be at her best when it comes to floral and nature inspired beads (though arguably the recent Other Myths and Legends collection undermines my opinion a little. Nevertheless she has such talent for capturing the details of flowers in particular and her personal love of flora seems to be reflected in her designs.

The Redbalifrog lock selection is pretty comprehensive and if you’ve yet to try them, I’d absolutely encourage you to do so.
