Redbalifrog Balinese Troll Review

This Redbalifrog blog brings a dedicated review of the recently debuted Redbalifrog Balinese Troll, part of their Other Myths & Legends collection.

Last month saw the launch of the Redbalifrog Other Myths & Legends collection. It built upon the original release (Myths & Legends,) one of the most popular collections for the brand to date. Predictably the new beads proved incredibly popular.

The beads actually only arrived with me about thirty minutes before the release so I really struggled to get live images and reviews together. With that in mind today I’m showcasing the Redbalifrog Balinese Troll. Do remember this brand use a universal core so it’s wholly compatible with either Ohm Beads or Pandora charm bracelets. It’s retailing at $37, €31.50 or £28.

Redbalifrog Balinese Troll

The Redbalifrog Balinese Troll is a good sized bead with some amazing detailing. The rear of the bead shows the ohm sign and a little texturing that’s reminiscent of the long retired (and very coveted) Thai Troll.

For this bracelet I wanted to give the Balinese Troll a home with earthy, organic looking beads. All of the colour comes from Trollbeads gemstones and a few ambers. Incidentally many of these beads feature as live images on the VALINOR Boutique website as part of the remaining Spring Bead Break hangover party.

The silver beads were mainly chosen for their fantasy theme, aside from the True Beadz True Pint which just felt apt for a troll. I’ve included the Redbalifrog Dragon Hatchling as the idea of dragon eggs in a cave seemed to complete the picture. For the same reason I’ve added the Ohm Beads Hatching (and though it’s technically part of the Rawr dinosaur line, they can double as dragons.) It’s also my first time including the Ohm Beads Impression-ness Lock (though in this case it’s representing a troll footprint rather than a dinosaur’s.) Those of you who follow me on social media (Facebook and Instagram) may have noticed I’ve been having a lot of fun with both the Ohm locks and safety chains recently. As usual there’s a bead index at the end of the article if you’re unsure of any specific design.

Redbalifrog Balinese Troll Summary

I adore the fantasy genre so this entire collection suited me perfectly. Redbalifrog as a brand are synonymous with beautiful detailing while avoiding the cute aesthetic and this absolutely applies to the Balinese Troll. He has a curious, almost cheeky expression without being overly cute (which a troll shouldn’t be in my opinion!)

Though he is engraved with the ohm sign on his back, I still feel his vibe is suitable for fans of Tolkien or Harry Potter which is more how I’ll be using him.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Redbalifrog Balinese Troll? Did you indulge in this bead or is it on your wishlist? Hit the comments and let me know!
