Happy release day! Today sees the launch of the latest Ohm Beads collections. Due to a combination of the now earlier previews and the fact we were treated to a live image viewing of the Ohm Beads Panorama collection at the Spring Bead Break event at VALINOR Boutique, these beads have felt a long time arriving. I actually like early previews but I have to confess August’s beads being unveiling before July’s launched has confused me a little.
For the benefit of other confused individuals, I’l be offering a complete overview of the new beads launching today.

Ohm Beads Coffee Collection
The Ohm Beads Coffee Collection is the Bead of the Month for July. It’s a two piece silver set featuring a to-go and to-stay mug. It’s become somewhat of a tradition now for Ohm to release coffee themed Bead of the Month charms in July but this is the first silver design. It’s retailing at $95, €86 or £77 which I understand sounds expensive but again, there are two beads here. Obviously they use universal cores so they’re compatible with all your charm bracelets. The set was limited to just five hundred and fifty five (555) pieces and comes packaged in a cute to-go cup. For reference I have absolutely no idea what material it is made from.

Ohm Beads Green Crack
Green Crack is the latest limited edition glass from Ohm Beads and as much as I tend to dislike green, I love the mixed shades this bead has. (It also reminds me of frozen cocktails in the summer time.) It uses the cracked glass effect employed previously for Dark Shadows and Blue Hole and for those new to this design, I’ve yet to have any issues with the beads. It retails at $40, €39 or £35.

Ohm Beads Panorama Collection
I’ve been excited for the Panorama collection since I first saw the set at VALINOR Boutique. These are silver beads depicting iconic skylines. They’re centres are hollowed to allow the inclusion of a glass bead which then creates a backdrop for the skyline. It’s a very clever concept. Though they look at their best on the Ohm Beads Ball Necklace, they are fully compatible with bracelets or bangles too. Each of the pendants retails at $85, €79 or £71.

Ohm Beads July 2017 Collections Summary
I think this is a strong round of releases from Ohm though I do agree with some collectors questioning why all of the glass needs to be limited edition. It feels like we need some permanent collection glass beads (despite the fact that Ohm’s limited glass do usually stay available for a while.)
The Panorama designs I have been anticipating since the May event and they are such fun to play with. Experimenting with different glass to sit behind the skylines is almost addictive, though I will say that I personally feel these are most suited to Ohm’s barrel shaped glass. I suspect the effect is going to be lost with standard glass beads.
Looking ahead a little (and to try and clarify for those who are confused,) the Sun Dragon is the Bead of the Month for August. Lemon is the limited edition glass for August. According to the Ohmbassador calendar on July the 19th we’ll see the preview for the September Bead of the Month and on July the 21st the rest of that month’s collections will be unveiled.
