Ohm Beads Dirty Twisted Bangle Review

This Ohm Beads blog brings a dedicated review of the Ohm Beads Dirty Twisted Bangle, currently part of the July the 4th promotion for the USA.

The Ohm Beads bangles originally launched in 2014 but last year saw the debut of the Dirty Twisted Bangle, my personal favourite of the series. I’ve never actually reviewed the latter and as it’s currently offered as part of the July the 4th promotion for the US market, now seems a good time.

This review is going to focus on the actual bangle rather than any kind of inspiration. I’ve been sharing an absolute plethora of bangle inspiration on social media for the past two days (follow me on Facebook, Instagram and the VALINOR Boutique Instagram.) That will continue until the end of the bangle promotion so if you’re seeking actual design ideas, please check there!

The bangle retails at $80, €69, or £58.

Ohm Beads Dirty Twisted Bangle

The Dirty Twisted Bangle is Ohm’s original Twisted Bangle with the heavily oxidised finish. The twisted texture is finer than that of the newer Trollbeads Twisted Bangle and of course it’s a full bangle as opposed to the cuff style.

The bangle uses the same hook finishing as opposed to the barrel clasp of the bracelet. It’s incredibly user friendly though it can catch on clothing, particularly knitted items.

I’ve had numerous messages and emails over the weekend about the finish on the bangle. All Ohm’s dirty pieces are very heavily oxidised as opposed to plated and yes, oxidisation fades over time. How fast depends on a huge number of factors and that can include aspects such as skin chemistry so it’s impossible to truly advise on the durability of the finish on a personal level. I will say however that I’ve found the dirty twisted bangle to be really quite resilient. Below you’ll see a comparison between my bangle, now a year old and a very new dirty bracelet. Some of the gloss has faded but the actual finish is still very noticeable.

In regards to compatibility, the hook closure of the bangle is narrower than the twist of the bracelets. Very few of my True Beadz fit Ohm’s bracelet. All of them fit the twisted bangle. Further to that some Trollbeads will fit too. It would be wrong to call the two compatible but as the image below shows, there can be some pleasant surprises.

For those of you keen to indulge, you can do so directly via Ohm Beads USA (please note this link is affiliate) or any of my retail partners below. Do be aware that the Ohm Beads USA, VALINOR Boutique and Generous Gems are all hosting the 4th of July promotion. Spends of $120 or more will qualify for a free twisted bangle (and of course you can then choose the dirty version.)

Ohm Beads Dirty Twisted Bangle Summary

Trollbeads bangles are still my favourite of the branded selection. Everything fits them and they are super comfortable to wear but of course, part of that depends on wrist shape. The Ohm Beads bangles are in second place for me and I far prefer the twisted version (which is somewhat ironic as I like the smooth Trollbeads bangle over the new twisted design.)

The promotion this weekend is incredible however. Considering the bangle retails at $80 and it’s free on spends of $120 or more, I’d absolutely encourage anyone tempted to participate. With the July releases launching on Wednesday and including the much anticipated Panorama collection, limited edition Green Crack and the Bead of the Month Coffee Collection, it’s very easy to reach the spend requirement.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Ohm Beads Dirty Twisted Bangle? Have you participated in the 4th of July promotion? Hit the comments and let me know!
