This Ohm Beads blog brings a preview of the very limited edition and exclusive Ohm Beads Sol.
Today brings a surprise preview as the very limited edition and US exclusive Ohm Beads Sol is unveiled. Sol was created in celebration of the coast to coast US solar eclipse next month, hence the exclusivity. It’s very limited however! It will launch on August the 1st, slightly ahead of the Ohm Beads Lemon, Potato Potato, Sun Dragon and Insect Collection which all make their debut on the 2nd.
Ohm Beads Sol
Not only is Sol limited to the US market but only one hundred and one (111) of these beads have been created. The cores are engraved with not only the individual number but the eclipse date and the bead name. It depicts a starburst design on the brand’s iconic barrel shaped glass and though I’ve obviously not seen it in person, it looks to be a a shade wider than usual. It’s set to retail at $55.

Ohm Beads Sol Summary
I love celestial events and I’m so utterly jealous of the parts of the US being graced by the solar eclipse next month. With that in mind a bead to commemorate the occasion appeals to me enormously and I do love Ohm’s barrel shaped glass despite the fact it took me a long time to develop that fondness.
Yellow isn’t the easiest colour to wear for many of us and with so few beads available, gathering this in multiples is unlikely. From what I know however, this was a difficult glass to produce so it’s less that Ohm deliberately wanted to make it quite this limited and more that they couldn’t viably produce more in time. I know already the lack of numbers is going to upset some as one hundred and eleven worldwide is very low.
In terms of styling picture this bead with the Ohm Beads Panoramas! I’ve been having such fun with those designs but I established very quickly that they work the best with Ohm’s barrel glass.

Rounded glass just doesn’t look right (and doesn’t sit as well inside the Panoramas.) Trollbeads glass are just too small. For those wanting to commemorate the eclipse or even have a beautiful sunshine background for their Panoramas, this is ideal.
